AWIS projectWhat is AWIS?A network of African partnersAWIS (African Water Documentation and Information System) is a network of African organizations that aim to share the practices and information they have available to the greatest number of audience. Awis’ value is built upon the diversity of its members: - Geographic diversity: Awis’ partners have reference and they are operationally involved throughout the African continent, - A variety of skills: information managed by AWIS target the water sector in its broadest sense. Whether access to drinking water, resource management at a basin or sanitation and hygiene, this is why the AWIS’thematic network members have a long experience and have developed a solid expertise. - A variety of modes of intervention: another Awis ’specificity is the diverse nature of its constituent organizations. Its network includes government agencies, NGOs, research centres and basin organizations. Each, because of its special status, has developed methods of intervention of its own and which enrich the wide range of experiences federated by AWIS.
