Burkina: climate change adaptation strategies, study

GWP/WA has initiated with CWP Burkina a study to make the inventory of the adaptation strategies of the local population to climate changes and exchange of experiences and good practices between local counselors of different region of the country The study was finalized and the report presented during a meeting that gathered members of the CWP Steering Committee and the Secretariat of GWP WA. The study made the inventory in three agro ecological areas of the country, the practices developed by the populations to adapt efficiently to the negative impacts of climate change. It points out the performances of each practice in terms of efficiency and feasibility at all levels. This study was original in the sense that it summarizes the possibilities of transfer of well funded good practices between agro ecological zones in order to improve the fitness of actions of populations to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change and is needed.
