IWRM Training modules validated, workshop
GWP/WA held on 18 and 19 February 2010 in Cotonou, Benin a validation workshop on GWP Toolbox training modules in higher training institutes. These modules were developed after the training workshop for lecturers and researchers held in Bamako, Mali in April 2009. The aim of the workshop was to validate the IWRM modules and define a strategy for implementation in West Africa sub region in order to ensure an active participation of research and training institutions on IWRM issues. Lecturers and researchers of 11 universities and training & research institutes from 8 West African countries ((Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo) took part in the workshop in addition to GWP WA secretariat, experts from CWP Benin and the Secretariat of the CWP. So, 19 modules were developed for the training on Integrated Water Resources management based on GWP TOOLBOX for the Master Degree level. Sidi Coulibaly sidi.coulibaly@gwpao.org
