The Water Operators Partnership for Africa (WOP-Africa) has launched its first call for partnerships, inviting African water and sanitation operators to propose projects to be implemented over a period of 12 months.

Five priority themes are addressed by this call: management information systems, service to the poor, human resources development, infrastructure development and asset management. Water Operators Partnerships is an initiative of the United Nations to promote partnership for systematic knowledge exchange and capacity building among water and sanitation professionals. WOP-Africa, hosted by the African Water Association (AfWA), is implemented in partnership with UN-Habitat, the Global Water Operators Partnership Alliance (GWOPA), the African Water Facility (AWF) of the African Development Bank (AfDB), USAID and the International Water Association (IWA). The closing date for submission of partnership projects is 15 July at 12:00 GMT.
