The annual Global Development Awards and Medals Competition is administered by the Global Development Network (GDN), with financial support by Japan and other donors.  Awards are made for:  (1) Research; and (2) Projects. GDN's 2010 research competition focuses on finance for sustainable development.  Regarding projects, GDN makes an award for the most innovative development project (not theme-based) carried out by an NGO in any of the world's developing regions.  Application deadlines are 09 September 2010 for projects, and 18 October 2010 for research.
